You can seek the whole world
over and not find another single
land opportunity that will yield
a greateer profit tor the effort
and money wxnended than right
here in this community.
Among the various other ind-
ucements offered by Crescent to
the stranger seeking a location,
is the excellent school facilities
we have in our Grammar and
High school, which today ranks
with the best in the state.

SEWS of the way, no that when plow
work begins in earnest that they
can give all their time to the
work. Yesterday is a thing of
the past and a day once lost can
never be regained so take ad van
tage of the days that are here.
Now is an excellent time for
the farmers to prepare for early
spring plowing, and get busv
just as soou as the ground gets
dry enough to permit. The soil
never was in better condition,
and the farmer that busies him-
self early is going to raise a big
crop.
A Careful
Druggist
G)'
&
We have been asked why we
do not boom the oil busines. I
The facts of the matter is we
are quietly at work trying to get,
some one of thb big oil men to j
come in and make a test. Wei
have had a business acquaintance !
wit/i some of the big oil men of j
Oklahoma and hope to be able to
land one in this community this
spring. Newspaper and hot air
tiilk never drilled an oil well, it
takes money and sometimes lots i
of it, and t'ie only way to secure
an oil well is to dig down deep in
your pockets or interest an ex'
pereinced oil man to come in and
drill a test well.
Face to Face With 1914.
Facing 1914 we reflect that you
and the News are a part of this
community, and that it is, and
shall be just what all of us
jointly make it-no more, no less.
The individual today that has
no ideals is a decaying personage.
Distinction, honor, achivement,
romance but yesterday were
military. Today they are com-
mercial. The standard of civi-
lization are really standards of
business; through the gates of
commerce and industry march
development, progress, the hap-
piness of the nation, the prosper
ity of generations unborn.
Realize your duties and respon
sibllit'es to Crescent and com-
munity and fulfill them with all
your determination, shrink no
part of the communial burden
that rightly belongs to you, cul-
tivate and maintain the desire to
perform your work honestly and
adequately, striving always to
bear in mind that your misson
is a bigger and better Crecent.
Plant Cou Peas
Ed Stobaunh said a mighty
good thing last Monday when he
made the assertion that if every
farmer in this country would
plant ten acres of Cow Peas that
he could pay his grocery bills
out of the results of the same,
by just getting a few good milk
cows and feeding the hay Ed J
i 1 right, there is no better feed
to plant than Cow peas, it is the |
real dairy feed and another thing
it enriches the ground almost as j
much as any fertilizers. Cow
pea planting can follow a crop of
wheat or oats or can be planted
between the corn ro^s an<l will
ups. At Crescent the train men j make a crop. Ewrv turner

Did you ever stop to think how much
easier it is to spend money foolishly when

you have it deposited in a good bank . it
is not a man's capacity to make money that

Good roads are the foundation
of the success of the farmer and

now is the opportunity to show
your faith. Get in the harness

poultry industry of the United

will venture the assertion that
more money is paid out for poul-

merchants than the cotton crop
brings.
Considerable indignation over
the new ruling of compelling
travelers to buy tickets before
entering the train on the Santa
