Friday evening a very entertain-
ing program was given nt the Prai-
rie Bell school which by the way is
located in one of the finest commu-
nities In the state The school un-
der the very able direction of Mies
Ramona Lain and Mrs Fletcher
Buckner also la one of the best in
the county in grade work and in
good hoalthy intelligent looking
pupils
A very intereating debate formed
the early part of the program in
which the following question was
thoroughly discussed and resulted In
favor of the affirmative: “Resolved
that tha civil service act should be
extended to all branches of govern-
mental service" Affirmative Clara

After the exercise ice cream and
cake were served and a collection
taken up which netted $20 This
amount will be applied to the pur-
chase of a new school piano
Mr and Mrs E M Hickman who
are former residents of that neigh-
borhood were In attendance and ex-
press themselves as being highly
pleased with the progress being
made by the pupils In that school
JUNIOR-SENIOR BANQUET
One of the notable social events of
the week will be the bamiuet given
by the Juniors in honor of the Sen-
iors at the Parkinson hotel
THEATRE PARTY
Miss Wilma Armstrong entertained
the D I club at her mother's apart-
memnta In the Severs building Fri-
day evening She surprised the girls
with a theatre party After the thea-
tre party dainty refreahments were
served at I S Moore's The girls en-
joyed themselvea very much and de-
parted about 11 o'clock Those pres-

Friday evening the commercial de-
partment of the High school enjoyed
a hay ride in the country northeast
of town chaperoned by Mr and Mrs
R L Seaman Having reached their
destination they proceeded to build a
fire where Wienerwurst was roasted
to the queen’s taste and later marsh-
mallows topped oft a very savory pic-
nic lunch About fourteen couples
enjoyed this outing

In Okmulgee the Pionoer Telephone
girls entertained friends and mana-
gers at the office rooms on East
Sixth street The affair was in the
nature of a get-together meeting on
the part of the employes and em-
ployers which la a usual occurrence
with the telephone people Being
held In Okmulgee the local glrla act-
ed as hostesses and proved them-
selves most charming entertainers
Delicious refreshments were served
In a very tasty style by the young la-
