Bird Creek FCE meets;
program presented
on "Grandparenting"
The Bird Creek FCE group met
Monday, July 11 at 1:30 p.m. in
the home of Florence Malaske.
Ida Mae Renfrow gave the de-
votional reading Deuteronomy
■ 6: 5 and Proverbs 22: 60. The
flag salute was led by Judith
Collis.
The lesson on "Grandparent-
ing" was given by Judith Collis.
She noted that grandparents
' communicate unconditional, de-
pendable family love, knowing
that children cannot receive too
n much love.
The roll call was answered by
the strongest memory of one’s
grandparents.
The childrens books will be
delivered to the Pawhuska
Hospital, Inc. to be given to all
newborns.
Upcoming dates to remember
include the leader lesson to be
held July 25 at 2 p.m. at the Ex-
tension Office for the lesson on
Counting Fat Grams’; a class on
"Stir Fry Cooking" to be held
August 17 and the cost will be
$6 per person; and a Fall Fo-
liage Tour through the Boston
Mountains on Saturday, August
22.
Home Economists will meet in
July to compile a list of lesson
topics from which you will be
able to choose leader training
for the next two years. The list
of topics will be included in the
next newsletter. If you have
any suggestions or ideas for
topics that are not on the list
you will have space to add
them.
It was noted that phone calls
we all receive from all over the
country about everything from
land sales to gems to stocks and
bonds should be checked out
carefully for fraud before you
participate.
Refreshments were served to
Mary Boyts, Bessie Garrison,
Dema Surber, Judith Collis,
Anna Villasenor, Margaret
Smith, Mary Stephenson, Ida
Mae Renfrow and Nonnie Dixon
by the hostess, Florence Ma-
laske.
The next meeting will be held
Monday, August 8th at the
home of Ida Mae Renfrow.
