Pawhuska's Seventh and Eighth Grade boys lost a heart-
breaker in overtime, 31-30, to Wynona Thursday night in the
Bowring Invitational Basketball Tournament
Pawhuska trailed by five, 20-15 at the half, but outscored
Wynona 10-4 in the third period to take a 25-24 lead The score in
regulation time ended 29-29.
Wynona scored a basket while the Junior Huskies hit on the
first end of a one and one free throw, but could not score another
point McGuire of Pawhuska was the game's high point man
with 17 points.
In other semi-final action, Wynona’s Seventh and Eighth
Grade girls went into the fourth quarter tied with Indian Camp
and came out with a slim 38-36 victory Burgess of Indian Camp
played an outstanding game in scoring 24 points while Smith of
Wynona put in 19.
In the Sixth Grade Boys’ contest, Osage Hills easily defeated
Wynona 50-20 and held them scoreless in the first half Sanders
of Osage Hills led with 18 points
In the finals tonight beginning at 5:30, the Fifth and Sixth
Grade Wynona and Osage Hills girls play and will be followed by
Pawhuska’s Christian Eagles and Osage Hills.
The Bowring and Wynona Seventh and Eighth Grade girls will
play at 7:30 and will be followed by the Seventh and Eighth
Grade boys from Indian Camp and Wynona
