PAWHUSKA JOTRNAL-CAPITAL, PAWHUSKA, OKLA. PACE THREE
Kiwanis Junior Olympics for 1965
Approximately 300 young ath-
letes from Pawhuska’s four grade
schools competed enthusiastical-
ly in the Kiwanis Club’s 1965
Junior Olympics Monday night at
the baseball field.
Winners in 24 events, some of
them divided into two heats to
accommodate the large number
of entries, were named and then
awarded ribbons made by Dr.
Leon Walker who provided the
grand opening, the firing of two
aerial salutes.
An excellent field and the as-
sistance of Key Club members in
keeping the track clear made this
one of the better Olympics in re-
cent years. Key Club members
also helped with the measuring
and other numerous chores in the
jumping events.
Bob Kelly served as announcer
for the evening and Rev. Barton
Williams gave the invocation.

chairman of the event and Dr.
W. P. Miller was clerk.
