A SOLID FAMILY FOUNDATION
The family and its home, the free churches and schools — these are the foundations of Ameri-
ca’s greatness. Nations that place these institutions first will prosper and conquer ignorance
and fear.
The family that relies on the Church as the foundation for its faith is established upon a
solid foundation and has a true and never failing guide.
The family that follows in the way of the Lord, through the Church and the school, will
be guided through all trials and be prepared to meet any crisis with tranquility, serenity and
quietness of mind. The members of such a family will know faith, peace, love and joy

VICTORY OVER FEAR
“Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow
of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.”
Fear is known the world over--from the tiny child who
is abraid of the dark, to the tottering infidel who is afraid
of the light. Not all people fear the same thing, but every-
one sometime or another, has known what it means to be
held in the clutches of fear.
•-
Many people have a fear of sickness; some fear old age.
Others fear losing their minds; some live in fear of losing
their jobs; many fear poverty; and the fear of death is
universal. And now that nuclear weapons are in the hands
of our enemies, and man has found his way through space,
with designs on making the moon a military outpost, the
whole nation can no longer draw a relaxed breath for wond-
ering what will happen next.
Does God want His children to live fearful lives? Does
He want us to be constantly nagged by fear? A look at the
Bible (2 Timothy 1:7) gives us the answer in no uncertain
terms: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but
of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Who then is responsible for fear? When did fear first
get its grip on mankind? Here again the Bible furnishes us
the answer: We no sooner open it and begin to read the
story of creation, than we see Adam fleeing from the Lord,
after having broken God's commandment. “Where art thou?”
God called to him. And Adam answered, “I heard thy voice
and I was afraid. . .” So we see then that behind Adam’s
fear lurked sin.
Naturally a sinful person has every reason to be afraid
Only when man's sin has been forgiven, and he has made
peace with his Maker can he expect to be delivered from the
grip of fear. Fears present themselves to God’s children,
too, but through Christ they are conquered, David said,
"W hat time I am afraid I will trust in thee," and more than
that he said, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom
shall 1 fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom
shall I be afraid?”
