Grid Meeting
Is Wednesday
Eighth grade football players will have the first pre-sea-
son meeting with their new coach at 10 a.m. Wednesday at
Daniels field at the Perry stadium.
Head coach for the eighth graders will be Mel Wester-
man. An assistant for the eighth grade program will be as-
signed later. Coach Westerman said parents are welcome
to attend the first meeting, ask questions and visit a little.
Following the 10 a.m. Wednesday meeting, boys will
check out football gear and be informed about oilier plans
for the season.
First practice for conditioning will be at 9 a.m. Thurs-
day at the stadium. First practice with pads will be at 9 a.m.
next Monday. Westerman also has been named head base-
ball coach for Perry high school.

nual meet. There was scratch golf and
handicap play in five flights, champion-
ship, A, B, C and D.
In A flight, Jim Garvey was champion
in scratch golf with John Inselman win-
ning in handicap. In flight B, Dr. Martin
Roth took the scratch championship and
handicap winner was Phil Sadler.
Dave Hubble took C flight champion-
ship honors in scratch play and handicap
championship went to Rick Tearney.
Tim Dolezal took the scratch champion-
ship in D flight while handicap cham-
pionship went to Mike Dvorak.

the two former lightweight

Haugen and Pazienza,

championship bouts in 1987
and 1988, battled back and
forth with Pazienza winning
the early rounds, Haugen
asserting himself in the mid-
dle rounds and Pazienza re-
gaining control at the end.
