Contest
The First National Bank & Trust Company announces
its annual Photography Contest to recognize the talents
of local photographers in the Noble County area. The
twelve winner’s works will be featured on the bank’s
1990 calendar (one picture for each month). All en-
tries will be judged on the basis of composition and
subject matter.
Listed below are the contest rules:
1. Competition is open to any amateur photographer.
2. The contestant must be a resident of Noble County
or a customer of First National Bank.
3. Limit of three entries per contestant.
4. Contestant should pick up an entry blank at the
bank and attach the form to the back of the
photograph.
5. The calendar entry must adhere to the theme: "No-
ble County Places, Happenings, and Events”. No
portraits, please.
6. The picture should be horizontal and in color with
minimum size of 5” X 7” and no larger than 8”
X 10”, unmounted. All prints should be titled. The
negative must be available for reproduction
purposes.
7. All entries must be submitted by May 19,1989. Judg-
ing will take place on May 25, 1989.

Miss Tautfest is the daugh-
ter of Rex Tautfest and Miss
Young is the daughter of Lar-
ry and Darlene Young.
They were chosen for mem-
bership by a faculty commit-
tee in recognition of outstand-
ing qualities in the areas of
scholarship, leadership, char-
acter and service.
The Marland 101 chapter of
NHS has been active since
1974.
The induction included a
candlelight ceremony con-
ducted by Brenda Cly, pres-
ident, and Eddie Bottger and
Gail Kent, members. Sherry
Case Regnier, charter pres-
ident, and Teresa Cain Burk
assisted.
Chapter advisor is Mrs.
Elizabeth Johnston.

A few light showers deve-
loped in northern Oklahoma
Tuesday, but the general
outlook is for mild, fair
weather the next several
days.
Strong thunderstorms oc-
curred late Monday in ex-
treme eastern Oklahoma,
producing large hail in the
vicinities of Poteau and
Heavener.
The National Weather Ser-
vice said temperatures will
dip a bit Thursday and Fri-
day, but a warming trend will
return during the weekend.
Temperatures were ex-
pected to reach highs Tues-
day from the lower 60s to
lower 70s, lows early Wednes-
day from the mid-30s to
mid-Ms and highs Wednesday
from the mid-60s to the lower
70s.
Lows early Tuesday ranged
from 41 at Guymon to 55 at
Tulsa. Highs Monday were
from 87 at McAlester to 68 at
Guymon.
Genealogy
Group Meets
On Saturday
A spring workshop will be
hosted by the Garfield Coun-
ty Genealogists from 9 a.m.
until 3 p.m. Saturday at the
Great Plains room of the Enid
public library.
The morning session will be
a beginner’s workshop and
the afternoon portion will in-
clude research in Missouri.
Cost will be $3 per person.
A brown bag lunch will be
available at $1 per person.
All persons interested in
genealogy are invited.
4-H and FFA news are
published in The Journal, be
sure to have your reporters
turn in their details of your
meetings.
