‘Impotency’
Pill Firm
Given Fine
RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (UPI)
A mail-order firm that claimed
its sexual potency pills were en-
dorsed by the U.S. Navy and had
kept a man going until the age of
120 agreed to reimburse any
buyers who have complaints.
In return for establishing a
$250,000 reimbursement fund, the
Lynbrook Marketing Co. of Lyn-
brook, N.Y., was allowed to
plead guilty Friday to a single
misdemeanor count of a scheme
to defraud. It initially was charg-
ed with five felony counts on the
same charge.
Advertisements touting the
“super potent" pills included the
“testimony" of a woman who
claimed her husband maintain-
ed his virility to the age of 120. It
was also claimed the pills were
“endorsed by the U.S. Navy."
The firm’s attorney, Richard
Miller, and Suffolk Assistant
District Attorney Emily Con-
stant worked out the agree-
ment, which included a provision
that the firm will turn over more
money if $250,000 does not satisfy
all claims.
Miller gave the court a cer-
tified check for $125,000 and pro-
mised to furnish the balance by
the end of next week.
If the claims do not exhaust the
$250,000 fund, it was agreed that
the surplus will be placed in the
county treasury.
