2 GARBER-BILLINGS NEWS THURSDAY, OCT. 9,
1986
Rotary Club
October 2, 1986
Short and sweet -absent
members were Don Ander-
son, Bruce Mendenhall,
Paul Southwick and Bill
Sims. All other members
were present. All fairly
wet and hungry. I think
this was the 5th day of
rain. The writer got
pretty well soaked bring-
ing the food from the
Country Kitchen.
We pledged allegiance
to our flag followed by
the invocation by Rev.
Nolan Pierce. Fall in
for beef patties under
gravy, mashed potatoes,
green beans, orange
salad, hot rolls, iced
tea and sheet cake - real
good!
The program was nomin-
ation of officers for
the coming year but the
subject of conversation
was the weather and rain
HEALTH NURSE
HERE MONDAY
Gloria Cook, R.N.Gar-
field County health nurse
will be in Garber Monday,
Oct. 13 for the monthly
health clinic.
Besides the regular
innoculations and exam-
inations, she stated that
flue shots will also be
given to those who have
missed them. There will
be a small charge for the
flu shots.
KREIE FUND
IS STARTED
A Ralph Kreie family
fund was started at the
meeting of the Senior
Citizens Monday night.
It was reported that
$300 has already been
contributed.
Those who wish to don-
ate to the fund can con-
tact Aden Helberg or
Lloyd Long.
It’s the
LAW
for the past week.Found
out it was my gas meter
at the shop that got
knocked over so that
water flooded the gas
lines on the east side
of town, all of which
have been repaired,
drained and blown and
back in service - that
is all except mine at
the shop, but hope to
get a new line soon.
In the meantime, I'm
borrowing gas from
Taylor and Deeds garage
south of me.
Director Edwin Long
presiding, we proceeded
to nominate Don Anderson
for president and Steve
Long for vice president,
Nolan Pierce and Bruce
Mendenhall for secre-
tary and treasurer.
Election will be at a
later date. Duties to
begin in July, 1987.
Our next program -
Edwin Long in charge
says he has a good
speaker lined up. You
all come. Amanda will
be there.

FORMER PASTOR
HERE ON WEEKEND
Rev. and Mrs. Harold
Morgan, Pratt, Kansas,
will be visiting in
Garber this weekend and
a fellowship has been
planned at the church for
Saturday night. Those
who wish to see them may
visit with them that
night. It will begin at
7 p.m.
Rev. Morgan is a form-
er pastor of the church
and was instrumental in
the building of the
church and parsonage.
Oklahoma's deer harvest regu-
lations are not set in terms of
bucks and does, but rather antler-
less versus antlered deer.
According to Wildlife Depart-
ment regulations, an antlerless
deer is any deer having no antlers
or antlers less than three inches
above the hairline on either side,
regardless of sex. Conversely, to
be considered antlered a deer
must have antlers of more than
three inches on either side. By this
definition, young bucks with antlers
smaller than three inches are
considered antlerless, despite the
fact that they are bucks.
The archery season bag limit is
two deer and it may be two antlered
deer, or one antlered plus one
antlerless deer. So called "doe
game the young Wolverines days" during deer gun
rolled to a 32—14 win.
When regulations allow the har-
vest of more than one deer in a
season, a separate tag is required
for each deer harvested.
To learn more about Oklahoma's
hunting regulations, sportsmen
can get a copy of the 1986-87
Oklahoma Hunting Regulations
booklet at license vendors and
sporting goods stores around the
state. Booklets also are available
at Wildlife Department Head-
quarters in Oklahoma City, at
regional Wildlife offices and at the
Tulsa Fairgrounds.
