To Be Quiet

Oklahoma's top safety man
Commissioner Ray II Page look-
ed forward with tningiving to the
first of the season's major holi-
days — Thanksgiving Day
"Where most people are eager
to greet the holiday sesaon" said
Page "We move towards them
with dread Why Because we see
dozens of unsuspecting individuals
and their families fall victim to
the holiday season — nearly all ot
them undeserving of the fate'
which waits at every curve of the
road every intersection every
hill"
Drive Carefully
All highway patrol troopers
will be on duty the entire week-
end to assist motorists and to en
force the law No leniency will
be shown to any violators
"It remains a mystery to me"
the commissioner said "why some
people insist On throwing caution
to the winds Just because it's a
holiday" Be did commend motor-
ists who are doing their driving
Job well "But" he cautioned
don't want to be construed as
minimizing the effects of irrespon-
sibility behind the wheel"
In conclusion Page wished all
Oklahomans a happy holiday but
added "A cat has nine lives Do
you?"

Christmas Lights Go
Up Santa Claus
Just Around Corner
Yes folks it must be that time
of year again because those
Christmas lights have already
made their appearance here in
downtown Wilson if you hadn't
already noticed
Yes it shouldn't be long now
before the Christmas trees and
porch decorations make their an-
nual appearance along with old
St Nick himself So we might
as well get ready for the yuletide
season because its just around
the corner
