Greer for Commissioner
The Leader which has for 24 years striven for the ad-
vancement of Sand Springs and community and supported
every movement which would aid its progress urges the election
of Curtis S Greer for County Commissioner of District No 2
The Leader has no hesitancy in asking the citizens of this com-
munity to vote for a man who will give Tulsa county what it
needs an honest conscientious and businesslike administration
of its affairs
More than any other one thing the administration of
county government calls for the application of successful
sane and practical business principles The evident need in
the county commissioners office of a man so trained and prac-
ticed in modern methods of cutting corners to lessen expenses
and save money points to Greer as the outstanding candidate
in the race Not another candidate can point to a record such
as Greer possesses He is personally successful and for that
reason will make a better commissioner for he knows how to
guard the interests of those whom he will represent as he has
his own
With the hundreds of thousands of dollars which is ex-
pended by the county commissioners every year Tulsa county
is in dire need of a man who will handle it justly honestly and
judiciously Qualified by experience and personally a man of
honesty and integrity Greer's election would heighten the atti-
tude held toward the county commissioners office The Leader
does not bold Greer up as one with faultless or infallible wis-
dom but rather that his selection as the Democratic nominee
would lend security and impregnability to the office he seeks
Selfishly every citizen of this area should vote for Greer
It is the one opportunity for the residents in this and surround-
ing communities to get a fair division of county and cooper
ative state and federal road and bridge work Greer of course
has promised nothing but a fair and equitable share to every
community With the local citizens continually on the quest
for an extension of highways to nearby trade territories there
has not been an all-weather road built out of Sand Springs in
a dozen years or more One has only to check to see what has
been done in other sections of the county during this time to
satisfy himself as to how this community has been discriminated
against With Greer as commissioner we shall at least get a fair
apportionment of road development
We realize that a "prophet is not without honor save in his
own home" and that there are some persons locally who pos-
sibly might not like Curtis Greer personally In his business re-
lationships he has had to take a stand sometimes which he
thought best to protect his personal interest and many per-
haps have been offended To those we should like to suggest
that when Greer is commissioner he will be in there looking
after the interests of the taxpayers just as he has his own
personal affairs Regardless of personalities Sand Springs is
offering the county of Tulsa through Curtis Greer a business
like economical administration of its affairs and every resi-
dent of this and nearby communities should rally around his
banner
There is not a more civic minded citizen of Sand Springs
than Curtis Greer He has given of his time his money and his
ability toward advancing the community He is loyal He is a
heavy taxpayer With him in the commissioners seat the in-
terest of the taxpayers tvill be zealously guarded He is asking
for the office in order that he may be of service to the resi-
dents of this and other communities in the district
To those who are eligible for Old Age Pensions Mr Greer
promises to honestly and fairly help straighten out the sorry
mess into which the affairs of this noble work has been dragged
As these folk are all cleared through the County Welfare
association which is under the direction of the County Com-
missioners Mr Greer promises a just and equitable payment
to every deserving man or woman in this country
We might suggest the election of Greer by listing the
many reasons why his opponent should not be returned to of-
fice but we choose rather the reference to Greer's own merit
and his fitness for the office
It would be the sound sane practical and certainly the
logical thing to do to cast a vote for Curtis Greer

Speaking to the largest crowd
any candidate for governor has at-
tracted this year W S Key out-
lined his platform upon which be
expects to be elected here Wed-
nesday afternoon to an interested
gesup of listeners
He was introduced by Elmer
Fruiter former state commander
of the American Legion who brief-
ly told his listeners why he wee
for Keys for governor Fraker a
fluent speaker made a strong ap
peal for the men whom he intro
duoed
Key starthig off slowly warmed
to his subject and nientioned brief-
ly some of the things he stood for
He mentioned each of his main op-
ponents and explained his view
point of bow into of them stood
regarding the affairs of the state
He took much pains to explain his
stand on the use of the State militia
for which he condemned one of
his opponents
There are many elements which
are contributing to the widespread
strength which is develoing for
W S Key in the race for Goiter
nor of Oklahoma
One of these of course is the
fact that he formerly was state ad-
ni inistrator for the Works Program
Administration in Oklahoma and
in that capacity visited through
out the state WPA projects were
In proeess of construction and be
came acquainted with people in
litany hundreds of communities In
doing this he contacted working
people school boards city officials
and many public spirited citizens
who were interested in the work
which he had in hand He hannien
this big assignment in such a way
as to win commendation through
out the state and in a manna
which showed his executive ability
and what is equally important in
a governor the ability to get along
with people in all types of callings
Another element of Key strength
is his clean party record He has
not been accused of ever having
been anything but a Democrat or
supporting any but Democratic Can-
didates This may not weight as
much with some voters as it form
erly did but it carries weight with
a great many Oklahoma vitesr who
hail from the South Key is an
Alabaman
Still another reason Why Key's
candidacy appeals to many voters
