assisting Parson Leeper during the
revival here took 180 school chil-
dren to Sand Springs park last Sat-
urday morning for a wiener roast
Wienies and marshmallows were
roasted and a real good time wan
had by all In the evening at 6
o'clock he took the girls and boys
of the B Y P U to the river
where they had a chicken fry Mr
Stockton then left for Memphis
The were 40 convermions at this
tevival
An entertainment given by the
parent-teachers association was
held at the Mark Twain school last
Satrday night It was called a
"Night of Joy" and was in the na
ture of a carnival Over 1125 was
raised from this entertainment
which goes into the Students' Aid

pageant for Easter Sunday called
"Sunrise in the Garden" It will
be held at the church A sunrise
breakfast w ill be served at 6 In
' the morning It is expected that
the same pageant will be shown in
the evening with a little variation
and ivill be called "Sunset in the
Garden"

people's work has been thoroughly
reorganized and there are two
growing societies A sociable is
planned for Thursday evening of
this week
A meeting of the Community
Church Boy Scout troop com-
mittee was recently held and plans
were formulated looking to the im-
mediate reorganization of the
troop M O Ruppert has con-
sented to head the troop as Scout
master He has had extensive ex-
perience in this field and has been
very succesatui with the work in
other localities
The church session has author-
ized a council of religious educa-
tion made up of representatives
from every organization in the
church to meet quarterly and act
as a coordinating agency for the
whole of the church
Special programs are being giv-
en at the opening devotional ex-
ercises each Sunday morning
These are very interesting and we
want you to join us next Sunday
morning We are growing each
Sunday but there is always room
for one more Last Sunday the
attendance was 290 Help us to
make it 300 this Sunday

gin soon after the close of the
public schools
A Council of Religious Educa-
tion to meet quarterly has been
authorized by the session with re-
presentatives from every one of
the agencies of the church to act
as a co-ordinating body
The board of elders has gone on
record as heartily aproving the
proposed re-organization of the
Community Church scout troop M
O Ruppert an experienced athlete
and scout expert has consented to
be master A scout committee of
five from the church will support
his leadership
The Regular monthly Council of
the Community Presbyterian Sun-
day School met on Monday night
March 24 This was the councils
first meeting since Rev McDowell
has been here and many items in
conection with carrying on the
work of the Sunday School were
talked over Some of the most im-
portant of these were the follow-
ing: Easter Sunday was decided on as
Decision day (Ind each of the teach-
ers will bring before their classes
!the importance of uniting with the
church while young
Begining with the first Sunday in
April the hou for starting the De-
ovotional service of the Sunday
school will be 9:30 a m The Sun-
day School has been starting at
9:45 a m and this will give an
additional 15 minutes for Sunday
school work
The Young Peoples - (Christian
Endeavor) Societys have been well
atended but the Sunday School
teachers were requested to bring
this work before their classts each
Sunday in order that more boys
and girls may attend these meet-
ings each Sunday evening
Attendenance for Easter Sunday
was discussed and a Special pro
gram prepared We want 500 Sun-
day school Easter morning and
each teacher and pupil are re-
quested to work to this end If
! each pupil will bring some one we
will reach the 50 mark

Home Decorative Pieces

Thirty-five women and four chit
dren are studying polychrome art
under the direction of Mrs A E
Gribble an art instructor from
Tulsa They are learning to take
the ugliest household things and
beautify them through the use of
Italian clay and wax and water
coloring Velvet painting and bang
Inge are also taught
Old pictures are made new
through the use of the clay and the
wax and then painted over For
example The Leader reporter
watched Mrs Lillian Rawson take
an old picture build up the rocks
with the Italian clay and cover it
with the wax compound which
hardens permanently and watched
the bringing out of a relief picture
excellently done
The Junior members of the class
are Violet Holmes 10 Jane Mc-
Clintock 14 Fred Reynolds 12
and Rawson (Dinty) Pratt 9 They
are making lamp shades and map
reliefs through this method
The finest decorated art pieces
for modern homes are being made
by the students The placquea or
"art neveau" are being made by
the advance students
Mrs Gribble started teaching
classes in Sand Springs one day a
each week and now teaches two
days It is expected that she will
have to add another days tut the
class enlarges
