store in Jones Sunday morning before officers arrived
to arrest him
The burglary suspect was seen in the store by pass-

not enter the building but called the deputies He did
however stand guard until the county officers arrived
The deputies werle investigating another burglary
when they received the call They did not understand
that the suspect was trapped inside the building—thus
the delay

The Oklahoma County News
begins its fifty-ninth year of
continuous publication with
this issue
The paper was founded in
in 1901 by Chester A Keyes
who owned and operated the
weekly until 1935 The present
publishers leased the paper
for several years and later
purchased The News and the
rest of the Keyes publications
and commercial printing busi-
ness The former owner came up
with some interesting figures
this week we would like to
share with our readers:
If all the copies of all the
issues of The News which
have been run through the
presses were cut into one col-
umn widths and pasted to-
gether the strip of paper
would measure 50000 miles—
long enough to reach around
the earth almost two times
And if the columns were
cut into one-inch pieces they
would total nearly 3000000-
000 (three billion)
Believe it or not
