AHS to host special
pre-enrollment night
for upcoming freshmen
In order to make the transition from junior high to high
school as smooth as possible, officials from Altus High School
will be hosting a special Freshman Enrollment Meeting for cur-
rent eighth grade students and their parents. The event will be
held on Tuesday. Feb. 27. at 6 p.m. in the Altus High School
Auditorium. (Only current AHS students - ninth through
eleventh grades - are asked to attend the regular pre-enrollment
night, which has been scheduled for February 20th, from 5:30-
7:30 p.m. at the AHS Cafeteria).
During the Freshmen Enrollment Meeting, school officials
will hand out enrollment information such as course description
guides, graduation requirements, college preparatory curricu-
lum requirements, and home language surveys. They will also
give sample forms and instructions to the students.
Following the Feb. 27 meeting, AHS officials will meet with
each eighth grade student individually at Altus Junior High
School on Friday, March 16, to complete the enrollment
process.
Any parent or student with questions should call the Altus
High School office at 477-7648 or at 477-7610.

Bobby Gene Clay. 24. was arrested for DUI early Sunday morning after flipping his vehicle at York and “C” Streets.
According to reports, Clay said he accelerated on the turn, over corrected and lost control of the van and then rolled over.
