MEETING IS HELD
Members Vote to Have General
Meetings Only Once Each
Month in the Future
Members of the Junior Chamber of
Commerce voted to dispense with the
practice of holding their general meet-
ings twice each month when they gath-
ered at the American Legion hut last
night
President Ray A Martin presided
It was decided through discussion
that other activities throughout the
summer months conflicted with the
meetings and therefore it would be ad-
visable to hold the meetings only once
each month
Approximately fifty members and
guests were present It was voted by
the organization to pay the state dues
An attendance contest between two
teams the purpose of which was to ob-
tain a good attendance last night was
won by the team captained by Mac
Bennett The losing team captained by
Ed Strong under rules of the contest
must entertain at a stag party to be
given two weeks from last night
Following committee reports a short
program was presented It consisted of
three of four vocal numbers by a girl's
trio

church teams will play this evening in
the third game of the week contained
on the schedule of the T J Hughes
Lumber company softball league
They will play at Hypatia Park The
game will start at 6 o'clock
Last night the Lions club won its
second game of the season in as many
starts when it nosed out the Junior
Chamber of Commerce ten 12 to 8
Lass of the game by the Jaycees was
partly blamed on the six errors com-
mitted in the field during the nine in-
nings Owens pitched and Mesch caught for
the Lions For the Jaycees Bengt and
A Beal pitched and Wales Price
caught

The fielding of Lions players was ex-
cellent They committed only one er-
ror during the game Jaycee players
connected with 13 hits to 11 for the
Lions but they could not get their men
