Stanton and Jim Walker returned yes-
terday from a deer hunting expedi-
tion 100 miles south of Magdalene
New Mexico in the Black Hills reg-
lot with four deer as the result of
their trip
T M Lumley' s deer was put on ex-
hibit in the window of the Sanitary
Grocery after his return late yester-
day afternoon It is being prepared
today to be put on ice and served at
the Lions Club zone banquet next
Tuesday night which will be held here
soon Mr Lumley is a former presi-
dent of the club and made this trip
especially to insure that the club
would have venison to serve at the
banquet -
Mr Walling is making the Meth-
odist church a present of his deer and
they will serve venison at 'the ban-
quet tonight
The first deer shot on the trip was
brought down by Jim Walker A good
part of the venison from this deer
was consumed in camp Walling
brought down his deer on November
13 and Walling got IfilT on the 16th
The hunting district of the New
Mexico Black Hills is a narrow strip
about eighteen miles by thirty-five
miles and the open season on deer
lasts only 'eleven days the Cushing
bunters reported It was said that
during this short period a total of
465 hunters checked in and out of the
hunters' camp opening on this strip
of land
The sessions of the United States
senate for several years after the
formation of the government were all
secret

been absent from their losses more

their tests tomorrow andthose having
an average of "B" and 'Iwith but one
absent mark against them are to be
excused also Pupils who have been
doing work satisfactory to their re-
spective teachers are to le excused
also provided they have tot been ab-

It was decided last night that a
joint meeting of the Legion and Aux-
iliary would be held on a Monday
