IIE WILL MAKE GOOD
t
We notice from the press that Will Rogers
is talked for the position of Ambassador to
Old Mexico in case the present incumbant
( Mr Morrow' takes a place in the United
States Senate Will Rogers would make good
in any official position he may accept he is
a philosopher of great power and his intell-
ectual qualifications are in no way questioned
let us hope that President Hoover appoints
him Some say that Rogers would not accept
for financial reasons since he makes many
times as much out of his present line of work
as he would make out of the position in Old
Mexico But we recall he was talked of as
a candidate for Governor of Oklahoma back
when the salary wa6 about $400000 per year
if he could afford to accept the Governorship
of his home State at th e salary mentioned
above it seems to the writer that he could a

Governor Will Rogers is Presidential timber
and a few posirions like the one mentioned
above would no doubt have a tendency to
place him in better tunning shape for the
highest office within the gist of the Ameican
people but it is hard for thewriter to believe
president Hoover will think of appointing a
Democrat to this important post we would
rather think he will when the time comes fill
thio position with a man of his own political
faith
In our editorial last sweek we disccusseda
few of the number who will likely come be-
fore the people of Creek aunty for office
in the summer campaign we did not discuss
all who have indicated their desire to get in-
to this campaign because so 'many speak of
running for office who neVer announce and
actually get into the running that we have
decided to conment on those only who seem
to be in the running Since our - article last
week we have been informed that Judge J A
Watson of Bristow is a candidate fcr County
Attorney Judge Wationis well known to the
citizenship of Creek County having made a
successful campaiga tor a place in the rith leg-
islature he served Creek County through the
tith session of that body he has practiced
law in Brist ow for the past several years and
is regarded as a strong man and no doubt
would make an exrellent ' record as COunty
prosecutor should he be nominated and elect-
ed We have recently been informed that
Senator Fletcher Ni Johnson of Bristow
will be a candidate for reeletion he has serv-
ed in the upper house of Oklahoma's lepista
ture for the past four years and he will
no doubt seek re eleetion on his record
and all who are interested in our candidates
