"QUITTIN' TIME":
The whistle's blown its quittin'
time
And so I've turned in my key
to the office of the Messenger
and so far as I know now have
retired from active duty in the
newspaper field at least the me-
chanical part
This move is involuntary and
due to health conditions
For the past 63 years I've been
écntaminated with printer's ink
and at times welded to the edito --
ial pen In that time I've had
plenty of pleasure and lots of
grief gained much knowledge and
many friends
I'm sorry I have to throw up
the Sponge but my doctor says
it's necessary
So I'm quittin'
