With the political pot in Okla-
'home boiling county Demo-
cratic Committees will meet
Saturday afternoon for organi-
zational purposes and to select
delegates to the state committee
meeting There a state chair-
man of the party will be selec-
ted—and once again Rural O-
klahoma will be pitted against
Urban Oklahoma
It is too bad that battle lines
should be drawn so in this won
derful state-4-but they are! And
if Rural Oklahoma does not
consolidate its resources and
make its voice heard loud and
clear—NOW—it may find its
resources drained like rain
from a watershed to Oklahoma
City!
—
While the political picture
does not look so bright for Rur-
al Oklahoma—the agricultural
picture does—especially in this
area of the state With the most
abundant moisture in years and
the prospect of one of the best
crops ever—things are really
looldng up!
This is evidenced by the num-
'berg of new combines and trac-
'tors arriving in Texhoma with-
in the past two weeks They are
'going to be needed for the har-
vest next June

chart of PrOSPerly—becabse
here—as the farmer prospers
so does the small town
! THIS AND THAT
A warning has been issued to
youngsters riding bicycles on
the sidewalks in town—there
is an ordinance prohibiting
that—and periodically it is re-
membered when someone is
struck on the sidewalk by a
bike
On Wednesday in front of the
post office a local lady was
struck down by a bike and
while her injuries are not ser-
ous she is plenty uncomfort-
able It could as well have been
a Senior Citizen who might
have been seriously injured
Children may not know tbat
It is against the laws of the city
to ride their bikes on the side-
walks—so parents be sure they
are appraised of that fact
And speaking of ordinances
—it is unlawful to park within
a full car length of a fire hy-
drant—tickets are being issued
for this violation and will con-
tinue to be issued Drivers
should make certain before
parking that they are not with-
in the restricted distance from
any fire hydrant in town
Someone is minus a shoe—

A very important meeting is

will continue through the after-
noon concluding with a dinner
meeting at Denney's at 6:30
this evening
