It is now an assured fact that
the M K & T will begin im-
mediately to build a line from
Oklahoma City to Coalgate This
road will traverse a fine section
of country
The University building at
Norman Okla was destroyed
by fire Tuesday night This
magnificent structure was the
pride of the Territory and will
at once be rebuilt It was in-
sured A L Cochran and family of
Roff have moved to this city
and reside in the south part

Our own Al Taylor was per-
manent chairman of the Indian
Territory caucus We are proud
to have some of our own people
recognized and holding impor-

Just Plugging
In this great country of ours
it seems that our government
has become one of the greatest
"give away" sponsors of all
time
Never in the history of the
world has there been a govern-
ment which spent money the
way our democratic union of
states has for the past twenty
years And there seems to be
no end to it
The one thing that makes it
bad is that the American people
seem to like the idea until tax
paying time comes around Then
and only then do the great mas-
ses of Americans seem to
awaken to the facts
Looking at the matter from
an unbaised point of view it
would seem that any group of
people with kindred interests
which can get organized on a
national scale is holding out the
group hand for some "gimmie"
from the Federal Government
The latest such group to come
to the front is the group which
is asking and insisting that the
Federal Government stick it's
finger into the public school pie
If the people of this country
have reached such a low level
of independence (the word in-
dependence means Freedom
from assistance by others or
from rule by others) that they
are willing to pay twice as much
for half the service in their
New hit with millions!

school business then they will
allow the career politicians to
take over the schools
I cannot believe that the peo-
ple of Wynnewood are willing
to have some outsider tell them
how they must run their schools
I think the people of this com-
munity are proud that each per-
son has a right to say what he
or she thinks as to the manage
ment of their schools And
believe they will resist any at-
tempt by the Federal Govern-
ment to buy (with tax money)
a ccntrolling interest in those
schools
But if we do not become
aware of the danger we cannot
take steps to avoid it Let's not
go to sleep on this L L S
FOR SAFETY'S SAKE

are in sound condition
