4 DEFEND NATIONAL CROWN IN ILLINOIS
20 Flying Aggies in Meet
Approxinia tidy 20 members of
Oklahoma State' s national cham-
pion Flying Aggie club are sched-
uled to leave today and Thursday
for the National intercollegiate
Flying meet in Champaign
Friday and Saturday
The Aggies will be out to de-
fend the national crown they won
in 19523316-57 and retained again
last year -
They also will be in the running
for the coveted Grover Loening
traveling trophy given to the club
which contributes most to colle-
giate flying each year They have
won it the past four years
Only it of the 20 Aggies attend-
ing the meet will compete In the
" bomb dropping navigation and
landing contests which- comprise
the meet
The remainder of those going are
sponsors or will serve as members
of the ground crews The trip to
Champaign will be made in eight
planes three of them owned by
club members
About 300 college flying club
members among them the cream
of the country's college trained
will be on hand for the
meet sponsored by the University
of Illinois
