Mr and Mrs W H Wells cel-
ebrated their 50th wedding an
niversary last weekend The fes-
tivities began Saturday evening
when Mr and Mrs Jim Lyle
were hosts at a turkey dinner
honoring their parents and Mrs
Frank Wells and two daughters
Mrs Leland Stewart of Madras
Oregon and Mrs Jack Tay lo of
Deadwood Oregon Other guests
present were Mrs Myrtle Niles
Mr and Mrs Warren Fossett of
Enid Mr and Mrs Walter Pra Ile
of Garber Mrs R A Lyle of
Chickasha and Mr and Mrs
Seibert Barr

with an open house in the home
of Mr and Mrs Lyle
Guests were greeted at the door

was attired in a blue lace dress
and wore a blue carnation cor-

'rwo Deaver county 4-11 mem-
bers recently returned from an in-
teresting and enjoyable trip to the
American Royal 4-11 Club con-
ference at Kansas City Missouri
Patsy Whittaker of the Sunset
4-11 club and Kent Perkins of the
Forgan 4-11 club received an all-
expense trip to Kansas City to
represent Beaver county at this
annual event
Boys and girls from several
states attended this five-day con-
ference The five days Were pack-
ed full of activities sponsored by
the Kansas City Chamber of
Commerce Such events as mn-
ing parties banquets tours of the
city and the automobile factories
the American Royal horse show
and seeing a portion of the Live-
stock show in progress at that
time were planned
This honor was received by
Patsy and Kent fix their out-
standir'' 4-11 work during the past
year ir-ach year one boy and one
girl receive this coveted honor
based upon the point system used
in Beaver county
Mr Herschel Whittaker a-
companied the 4-11 members to
Kansas City and acted as one of
the sponsors during their stay in
Missouri

start Tuesday October 28 when
volunteer workers were served a
breakfast at the VFW hut and
received instructions in working
on the drive

ely began contacting those on
their list Tuesday however

When the late Raymond Mayo
was a patient in the Beaver
County Memorial Hospital last
year he saw a great need for a
TV set in the solarium room and
left $50 to start a fund to pro-
cure this set
Don Feeback hospital admin-
istrator said this week that the
fund was completed by others in
their contributions and the set
has been installed

Floyd Sumrall Beaver county
legislator and civic leader for
years died Tuesday evening at
6:30 pm at the Beaver County
Memorial hospital following a
series of operations about three
months ago from which he failed
to recover his health
Funeral services will be held
at the Beaver Methodist church
at 2:00 pm Friday with Rev
Glen Miller minister of the church

in 1936 from Spearman Tex and
began as an oil distributor with
the Phillips Petroleum Co and
has been with this company since
that time here lie later added
liquified petroleum products and
has been very active in this line
He began his political career
in the Oklahoma legislature in
1948 and has served in many of
the major offices of this body
through the past 10 years
Mr Surnrall has been a strong
civic leader for Beaver for over
20 years and many improvements
in the town of Beaver and over
the county have been brought a-
bout largely through his untiring
efforts
lie is a member of the Bea-
ver Methodist church th Mason-
ic order and past commailtier of
the American Legion post
lie was 64 years of age
Immediate survivors include:
his wife of the home his daugh-
ter Mrs Herbert Hendricks and
family a son Glenn and family
and a son Jerry Don of Goodwell
