tor of internal revenue said
Saturday
"Although It Is too early to

said "a vontinuation of the pres-

Wiseman released comparative
figures which showed all in-
crease In °venni collections of
$5752802 for the first seven
months of the fiscal year over
thelotal for the same period of
the previous year
' The tax official pointed out
the rise occurred' despite the fact
that corporation income tax sot-
lections are shout 13 million
dollars less than last year Ile
said he believed the decrease
in corporation Income tax was
due largely to the 1957 reces-

was in income and withholding

that commission approval of Nat-

meet the rate and thereby re-
quire it under favored national
clauses of its contracts to pay
the higher rate to all its suppliers
It said this ultimately' would cotl

70 million dollars
The commission had approved
Natural hpeline's rate on the
grounds the Chicago area which
it serves was hard- pressed for
gas and hence the premium price

The third U S Circuit Court of

Oklahoma Natural tot(' the high

A typical hit of democratic se
tion took place in Duncan a few
days agt7i It was in the method
employed to permit a group of
workers to decide whether or not
they wanted collective bargaining
Roth sides those wishing to Or-1
game the people into a collective'
unit and the company had suf1i1
eient opportunity apd time to pre
sent their tabet '
And it could be said that each
did an ample Job
At the proper time and places
ell people concerned had the op
portepity to make their individual
wishes collectively felt by way of
a secret ballot ruit is each
person concerned had the oppor-
tunity to vote his choice without
jn any way disclosing his ballot
Now this is quite simple and
usually common prlictiCe That's
the way almost all of our public
elections and votes are 'taken It
is also supposed to be the usual
way for union matters to be set
tied So why bother mentioning it?
Beeause it isn't always done that
way in all union and organized
labor cases!
Trace the receipt history of some
unions and you Will see that demo
erotic action has been stifled
there Freedom of choice without
fear of reprisal has been de
riled Collective bargaining has
been forced upon workers in the
same method
Perhaps Duncan can list another
reason that industry could choose'
this as a location It has many
people 'who have good reasoning
faculty and a groundwork of in-
dustry that believes in and prac
(ices fair and democratic methods
