The home was beautifully deco-
rated with spring flowers The cou-
ple exchanged vows before an im-
provised altar of roses The only at-
tendants were Mr and Mrs Elmer
Owens
The bride wore a navy and white
mesh ensemble with white accesor-
les Her shoulder corsage was of red
and white carnations Mrs Owens
wore blue and beige and her flow-
ers were of pink and white rosebuds
Mrs Daniels sore toast tan and
light beige with a corsage of pink
roses
Following the ceremony the wed-
ding party and the following guests
had dinner: Miss Helen Glen Miss
Elsie Fehr Miss Nita Hays and
Miss Lula Fehr all of Madill and
C J Courtney Temple Tex
The bride is a graduate of Madill
high school and was employed at
Southwestern Bell Telephone com-
pany in Madill prior to her wedding
Mr Caldwell attended Chico Jun-
ior college and the University of
California He is now employed by
the Califwnia Oil company
The couple will leave Friday on
a wedding trip to California where
they will visit the groom's parents
Mr Caldwell has been in Madill
with the California company explor-
ation crew

LOUIS LONG GETS HIS 9T11
ASSIGNMENT IN 7 MONTHS
First Lieut Louis M Long son of
Mrs Ben Long both of whom
formerly lived in Madill has taken
command of the largest battery in
the field artillery replacement
training center at Port Sill This is
the Headquarters and Headquarters
Battery 34th separate battalion
and includes most of the training
center's administrative officers and
enlisted men rations and supply
workers staff car and truck drivers
and special service men
Prior to entering the service
Lieut Long now the highest rank-
ing first lieutenant in the center
was manager of a finance company
at Ada He entered service Septem-
ber 12 1941 and has had eight dif-
ferent assignments He has head-
quarters for his 'family on the post
He has had in a short time as di-
versified a careor as many officers
have in years

nounce that he will be a candidate
for the office of county commission-
er in district three subject to the
July 14 primary election
Mr Willis said that he would
continue to handle the coun-
ty's business as efficiently and with
the same interest as if it were his
own and that if elected he will

Storm Damages Camp
During the storm which occured
Sunday evening the Warren Camp
suffered a few casualties The roof
was torn from one of the tool sheds
in the plant yard one shed was
turned completely over and one of
the new houses moved into the
camp owned by Mr and Mrs CY-
Bannon was moved completely
from its foundation A number of
trees were uprooted and limbs were
blown down
Mr and Mrs Homer L Johnson
and son Edward had as their
week-end guests Mrs Johnson's
parent's Mr and Mrs Ed J Beise
of Olunulgee
Mr and Mrs 0 C Leggett and
children motored to Okmulgee to
visit friends and realtives
Mr and Mrs Solsby and son of
Little City Mr and Mrs Bud Ham-
mer and children and Mr and Mrs
H L Johnson and son enjoyed a
delightful fishing and picnic trip to
Club Lake the past week
Miss Donna Ilta Quinn has been
confined to her home with the
mumps
Clyde Quinn has been in Tulsa the
past week attending a convention
Since the opening o 'squirrel sea-
son a number of men at the camp
have gone hunting

children motored to Pryor on Tues-
day after the cyclone Mrs Parker's
sister Mrs Tom Rudd and her
husband were in the path of the
storm but were uninjured Part of
their house was demolished

week-end to be the guests of Mr
and Mrs Ray Edwards
