to be presented at enrollment time?
A The veteran must bring with
him the necessary service paper to
show his entrance into active duty
and the date of severance there-

veteran present a photostatic copy
of his marriage license?
A It is necessary for him to
present an original instrument
(marriage certificate issued by and
signed by the county clerk his
deputy or the probate judge of
the county in which he was mar-
ried) Photostatic copies or notar-

the veteran is enrolled and his cer-
t ificate of enrollment is forwarded
to the Muskogee office A veteran
enrolled for the first time about
he middle of September could not
expect to receive a check prior to
Nov 1 This means that a veteran
Itoffld be prepared to take care of
his own subsiztence for a piliod of
from six to 10 weeks
Qs If applications are submitted
early would it mean an early re-
ceipt of subsistence payments?
I A Filling out of papers does not
necessarily insure an early check
' however if papers are sent in so
I that the certificate of eligibility
and entitlement can be set up prior
to the veteran's entrance into
school he will likely receive his
I first check Nov 1 whereas if the
certificate of ?ligibility has not been
issued prior to his entrance into
school he might not receive his
check before Dec 1 Under the GI
bill the veteran transmits Form
1950 along with the service paper
and the marriage certificate men-
tioned above If the veteran is com-
ing to the University of Oklahoma
I should advisethat he send these
papers to the Veterans' Liaison
Office University of Oklahoma If
he is not coming to this university
then be should submit them di-
rectly to the veterans administra-
tion Muskogee Okla We can fur-
nish Form 1950 if the veteran re-
quests Q Are textbooks and miscellan-
eous equipment furnished?
A The veteran is supplied with
the usual books supplies and equip

rment required of all students of
lie courses in which the veteran is
enrolled Al! this is furnished ty
the veterans administration The
miscellanems supplies are also
taken care of by the veterans ad-
ministration Q Will veterans who previously
were enrolled at the university en-
counter much difficulty in enroll-
ing this fall?
A The veteran who was enrolled
in the university last semester and
who has not attended some other
school during the summer will have
no difficulty in returning to school
this fall About the only procedure
Is that he gets here gets his ached-
' ule set up and reports to the vet-
erans liaison office for his book
requisition The veterans who at-
tended some other school during
the summer will have to secure a
supplemental certificate of eligibil-
ity and entitlement This is done
by getting a letter from the school
he attended This letter has to show
the final date of attendance at
that university He must also get
a statement from the university
that he will be accepted These two
statements are submitted to the
veterans administration at Mus-
kogee with a letter from the vet-
eran himself asking a transfer from
the school that he was attending
to the university in which he wishes
to enroll So far there has been
little if any difficulty in obtain-
ing the supplemental certificate
Q Does the veterans administra-
tion maintain a housing bureau?
A No it does not However the
university has a housing director
to whom applications may be made
by the veteran for rooms and apart-
ments Inquiries should be addressed
to Mr Garner Collin-us Housing
Director Faculty Exchange Nor-
