'BIGGER BAG LIMITS
FOR DUCK GOOSE
HUNTERS THIS YEAR
Oklahoma hunters who have
not familiarized themselves
with the 1957 waterfowl hunt-
ing regulations should take spc-
cial note of two major changes
In bag limits and one change
regarding the use of calls
Amended regulations prohibit
the taking of waterfowl by the
UFC or aid of "recorded bird
calls or sounds or recorded or
electrically amplified imitations
el bird calls and sounds"
Clarence Burch director r)
the Oklahoma Department of
Wildlife Conservation explain-
ed that the old blow-type calls
may still be used
Only the use of recorded or
electronic calls have been eli-
minated" he said "and this
has been done because the electroniol-recorded
calls were
too effective in bringing in
Lirds resulting in excessive
kills"
Daily and possession limits
cn geese also have been chang-
ed Last year the daily bag li-
mit and the possession limit
tater the second day was five
This year both the daily and
possession limits are six in-
dicating an increase in goose
populations
These limits may not include
more than two Canada geese
or its subspecies (including the
Lasses Canada and Richard-
son) or one Canada goose (or
Its subspecies) and one white-
fronted goose
