Chicago June 10—American doc-
tors assembled in convention here
Monday saw something that put the
ight-day clock among the list of an-
tiques It was a clock operated by
redium--a clock that can be kept in
operation for ages without winding
and for 2500 years without readjust-
ment The discovery of the use of
radium in this connection is said to
have revolutionized chemical and phy-
aical sciences
The exhibition was held in connec-
tion with the convention of the Amer-
ican Radium society an affiliated
group with the American Medical
society which is in convention here
U S Surplus Will Be Millions
Washington June 10—The gov-
ernment will close its books for this
fiscal year on June 30 with a sur-
plus of between $350000000 and
$400000000 Director Lord of the
