The Wonderful World
Of
Flo Boatright
Don't You Believe It
For some reason I don't feel the least bit Biblical this
morning and it's all Boatie's fault. He drove my car one
night and that’s when this whole sorry mess began. The
next day he was gone again but I was grounded. Every
time I opened my car door something hissed at me. I
couldn't see anything but was afraid to take a chance. As
the day wore on I was determined to break him from
playing jokes on me. I planned one hideous revenge after
another
The night he drove my car one of his friends put a large
barn owl in it. He thought he was teasing Boatie. But
Boatie didn’t find it. I did. Twenty-four hours later my car
was one foul smelling joke But Boa tie was innocent.
This week I almost had a rerun. My car radio is always
turned on. When I turn the key it starts doing its thing
This time when I turned the key, a rooster with a set of
kingsize lungs filled the car with his crowing. I nearly
kicked the door off its hinges trying to escape Before I hit
the ground I had Boatie tied to a stake and bar-
bequed. Once again he was innocent. The volume was
turned high and the rooster was broadcasting from deep
in the heart of Texas.
One should never pass sentence until all the evidence is
in. Things are not always as they appear. The Indians say.
Don't judge a man until you have walked a mile in his
moccasins." The Bible also offers some good advio
Boatie went fishing this morning and left me sleeping.
You may think that was sweet of him. Don't you believe it.
When he returns, this is one pale face that s going on the
war path. When I slipped my feet into my new house
shoes, toothpaste oozed up between my toes. King
Solomon said, "A soft word will turn away wrath." Like
Thomas I rather doubt it.

Any grain farmer may join the way wheat farmers have

dA
Larry Derryberry
Are ministerial alliances, ecumenical movements and
brotherhood" weeks pleasing to God? Certainly we
know that God is desirous of UNITY (Jhn 17:20f), but
does He want people to UNITE IN ERROR? Jesus
never prayed nor taught that people should be united in
error. Rather, we find in Jhn. 17:20f that the unity
prayed for, was the same unity Christ had with the
Father. i.e., being ONE IN Doctrine (2Jhn. 9; Jhn.
6:38; 8:28). Work i Jhn. 4:34; 5:36, 17:4), etc. Yet men
will still come together in their ministerial alliances
and such like organizations, which are founded upon
the idea of “agreeing to disagree." Thus, they ignore
the only foundation God has given us for unity_
TRUTH. Paul wrote: "Now I beseech you that ye all
speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions
among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in
the same mind and the same judgement." (1 Cor
1:10). Again in Phil 3:16 Paul says,".. .let us walk by
the same rule '-take this with the principle laid
down in Amos 3:3 and if you're sincere you will be able
to dearly see that people who teach 300 conflicting
doctrines tas taught by aprox. 300 denominations)
cannot "walk together" nor unite in any sense of the
word. Thus, the only "UNITY" or "AGREEMENT"
that they can have is "to agree to disagree!" Is this
man's understanding of unity'.' It certainly is not what
the Bible teaches as unity! The apostle Paul taught the
same doctrine in every local church (1 Cor. 4:17), but
this cannot be said of churches today. The unity of
believers in N.T. days was founded upon the Word of
God (Phil. 3:16). If man want unity today that would
please God they need to put away their creed books -
church manuals — disciplines — catechisms — etc.
and simply teach and practice what is recorded in the
N.T. If men are really seeking for unity that will please
God, they will do just as the Christians did, on the day
of Pentecost and days thereafter (Acts 2:41-42). Thus,
the Bible answer to the question at the beginning of our
article is NO! Does your preacher attend and support
such unscriptural organizations and practices? If you
have any Bible questions that you would like to have
answered from the Bible simply write to the following
address. (You will not be called upon unless you
request it be so):
