December was a busy
month for the Catholic
Women of the Chapel. The
feast of St. John of
Damascene was celebrated
at the first Friday mass. St.
John fought against those
who were destroying
religious images and the
established religious beliefs
of his time. In striving to
become more Christian we
should be more like St. John,
Fr. Tom Olszyk said. We
shouldn't be afraid of
challenges to our faith or of
those who have opposing
views.
Following the mass, a
Christmas party was held at
the Altus House nursing
home. A surprise visit was
paid by Santa Claus who
passed out fruit and candy to
the residents. The Will
Rogers Bell Choir, directed
by Jane Gay, provided
