But Mighty
We're not too sure just when we were born but just like any
growing baby it takes the right kind of nourishment to develop
a big strong infant and by your splendid patronage you have
certainly given us the proper nourishment to become the largest
one-year-old baby in these here parts
A big portion of our growth has been derived from the good
City of Duncan so thanks for the wonderful nourishment The
good families of the City of Marlow have contributed a lot to
our growth and we thank you We also realize our well bal-
anced diet has contained a lot of good nourishment from the
farm folks and the surrounding towns north east south and
west

New York — Juvenile furni-
ture manufacturers estimate that
$60000000 will be spent on in-
fants' and children's furniture in
the United States in 1959 Some
4400000 new babie sare expect-
ed to arrive this year which will
be an increase of 300000 over
last year's baby crop
This means a lot of nurseries to
be decorated! There is a marked
feeling for more adult styling of
such furniture and for the use of
brighter colors to replace pinkand-blue
baby color schemes
Lawrence Peabody has design-
ed a line fo juvenile furniture for
Child Craft of Salem Ind which'
will serve youngsters from baby-
hood through young adulthood or
make perfectly good den furni-
ture after that His young son
Thomas age 312 he claims has
influenced many of his ideas He
has tossed out pink and blue alto-
gether which he feels babies
don't respond to anyway He
uses instead such gay colors as
yellows oranges apple green'
melon and peacock blue in com-
bination with tawny natural
elmwood

the smallest room in the house

see them Only as they get
older do they appreciate the
privacy of closed storage spaces
where they can tuck things out of

Housing Pushed
By Puert3 Paco
San Juan Puerto Rico—A two-
bedroom concrete house costing
$3000 with monthly payments of
$1350 is the basis of a new low-
cost housing program announced
by the Commonwealth of Puerto
ico
The comparatively low cost is
made possible by Puerto Rico's
balmy climate which eliminates
the necessity for a basement cen-
tral heating system and insul(a-
tion and by special techniques
developed here under Puerto
Rico's "do it yourself" housing
program
As a result of the common-
wealth's rapid economic expansion
there is a demand for approxi-
mately 40000 houses in the $3000
class
Construction of a pilot project
of 500 to 800 houses in the San
Juan area is the first step to be
taken in the program The plan
is to finance it jointly through
the Government Development
Bank of Puerto Rico and private
enterprise
I The American "Holiday on
I Ice" troupe has won enthusiastic
acclaim at a rehearsal preview in
Moscow -which would seem to
guarantee the success of its 40-
day engagement in the Soviet
Union
