Let us all be more loyal to our union and to our friends for by
so doing Nv e shall be loyal to our own interests and it will be surpris-
ing how much faster we shall make progress in getting those better
conditions in 'life that all are striving for
Fighting for an ideal—and the labor movement is the greatest
of all ideals—it is the most altruistic organization on this earth for t
is the biggest humane issue to be loyal to give to work and if need be
to (lie for Toyalty to this ideal is a splendid tribute to pay to any
person

ONE of the most notable qualities that any man or woman can
possess is loyalty Loyalty to an ideal loyalty to your friends
and loyalty to your organization whether it be union or -fraternal
The person that possesses this quality is honored and respected
by his friends justly receives their confidence and possessing with
this virtue a modicum of ability vil1 go far in being sucessful in
whatever walk of life he may be placed in
No person gets very far in business his union or fraternal lodge
or on the political field who is not a person that could be trusted and
whose word or promise is considered worthless and who acquires the
reputation of being disloyal to his associates
What an asset it is to any person and what number of real friends
one can obtain of whom everybody says that he is loyal and good to
his family his friends and his organization it is a priceless asset in-
deed and no one gets very far without it
What a pleasure it is in a controversy when important matters
are under consideration for action when your associates can say of
you that we know Nv here that old scout stands he is right all the
time and have your opponents declare that it is useless to try and
switch him—or her
