FERRIS HAS ROT
PROVEN UNFAITHFUL
Oor friend Castleberry of the
Randlett News has a wonderful
conception of t h e rights and
duties of a Congressman In
last weeks issue he threw a fit
and while delirious from that fit
made a few statements reflecting
upon Shott Ferris of which we
wish to take notice
Scott Ferris has never betrayed
any trust placed in him by the
people of this district He has
alwaysbeen alert and on the job
for the welfare of his constitu-
ency The statements of Editor
Castleberry to the contrary not-
withstanding Mr Castleberry states that out
of the last six months Mr Ferris
has spent five of them in Okla-
homa campaigning: to unseat Sen-
ator Gore This is not true but
then even if it were— even if he
had spent the entire six months -trying
to beat Senator Gote it
can hardly be said that he is un-
faithful to his duty for a great
many consider the greatest ser-
vice which can be rendered to
the state at this time is the de-
feat of Senator Gore ’ '
Yet on the otherhand a great
many voters are friendly to the
Senator and will be for him
under all circumstances and we
have no quarrel with them for
being for him This is free
America and every man has the
right to think and vote as he
pleases but he owes it to him-
self to think the truih and if he
is speaking publicly he owes it
to the country to try at least to
speak the truth §4--
If Mr Castleberry will stick
strictly to the truth he will find
very little to condemn in the re
cord of congressman Ferris
It is high time that both the
Gore and Ferris papers cut out a
lot of these manufactured lies
It is quite certain that one or the
other of these men are going to
be ‘the nominee and the paper
which tells the fewest lies be-
fore the primary will have-‘he
fewest to take fcack after the
primary
Editor Castleberry says Mr
Ferris should have been present
and voted against the Ech-
Cummins railroad bill The
Democrat hopes Mr Ferris would
have had too much sense to have
voted against this bill had he
been in the House and voted
The bill may not be all that it
should be but certainly no one
with good sense excepting the
railroad men who have profited
uy the $700000000 loss on the
roads' want the government io
continue the operation of them
and to have returned them back
jwithout proper legislation who
have been little short of criminal
However we should not take
Editor Castleberry seriously He
is possibly due to inviroment
against Scott Ferris and he has
to make a big noise to b t people
know that he is against him
Truth and common sense has
very little to do with the matter
