Call A "Merry Christmas"
We don't need to remind you that It's only two
weeks until Christmas I'm guessing that the child-
ren street decorations store wirgInw displays and
"what to give" advertising has pretV well taken
care of that
You probably have heard as many suggestions
on hoW to solve the gift problem as you have on
how to get rid of a cold
Let me suggest something that will make some-
one real happy Call them long distance and wish
them a "Merry Christmas" They will be pleased
to hear your voice If you call after 6 p m stationto-station
for example the charge from Elk City to
Amarillo Texas is only 50c
Helpful Hints For Husbands
If most of you husbands are like me you fall
into tie same old trap every Christmas
You go out and buy your wife that special some-
thing she wants then set back and relax happy in
the thought that you're going to please her Sud-
denly about a week before the Big Day you realize
all your eggs are in one basket Mom will have one
nice gift — but that's all Everyone else meanwhile
will have several packages under the tree
If this is about to happen at your house this
year here's an idea
Give Mom a color extension telephone for
Christmas
We'll give you a gift-wrapped minature tele-
phone to put under the tree with the other presents
then have the real one hooked up after Christmas or
we'll go ahead end put 5t! in now so it'll be ready and
working on Christmas Day
Table phones now come in nine pretty colors
The new wall phones so popular for kitchens ate
available in seven colors Thz cost is $10 plus installation
Holiday Greetings
Before the holiday season is upon us I'd like to
wish everyone a Verry Christmas" and "Happy
