Oklahoma met in session on this
1st Monday of April 1957 being
also the 1st day of April 1957 and
the following Commissioners were
present: Cletis Killian Chairman
Claude Kees Member and Earl

There was presented for the Com-
missioners consideration a written
Withdrawal of Resignation of Law-
rence W Hay as Sheriff of Beck-
ham County Oklahoma the same
having been filed in the Office of
the County Clerk of Beckham
County State of Oklahoma on the
30th day of March 1957 And after
full and complete consideration the
Board of County Commissioners
make the following finding facts
to-wit:
1 That heretofore on the Ilth
day of March 1957 Lawrence W
Hay delivered to the County
Clerk's Office of Beckham County
State of Oklahoma his written re
signation as Sheriff of Beckham
County Oklahoma to become effec-
tive April 1 1957
2 The Board of County Commis-
Sioners of Beckham County Okla-
homa determined that on the 20th
day of March 1957 each of the
Commissioners being present ir
person held a meetng in the Of-
f ice of the County Clerk of Beck-
ham County Oklehema and they
accepted and recognized tile writ-
ten resignation filed by Lawience
W Hay as Sheriff of Beckham
County Oklahoma to become ef-
fective April 1 1957
3 The Board of County Conmns-
sioners further finds that on March
30th 1937 Lawrence NV Hay filed
a written instrument having lot
its purpose to inform the Board
of County Commissioners of Beck-
ham County Oklahoma that he
decided to withdraw his written re-
signation heretofore filed in the
County Clerk's Office of Beckham
County Oklahoma

The local Church of God congre-
gation has embarked upon a five-
year planning and building prog-
ram which will when completed
give it one of the most modern
church buildings in Elk City Rev
R A Rolm Id pastor has announ-
ced The congregation will underwrite
the construction costs and in a
meeting held March 17 a total of
$20000 was subscribed by mem-
bers Since that date r nother $2-
000 has been pledged bringing the
total subscribed to $22000 toward
a $25000 goal for the building
which will have an estimated valor-
of around $50000 when completed
Building Plans Committee
The church building connnittee
is composed of Julius Pierce F'rank
Hieronymus Clarence Dodi-ion Wil-
liam H Daily and Eldon Phelps
The proposed new structure will
be of masonry construction with
laminated arched interior and CP
covered floors The exterior will be
of brick facing'
The new sanctuary wil be :39x72
feet in size and will have a seating
capacity of 275 It will be construc-
ted on a lot immediately west of
the present church building and
will tact on First Street on the
south 'I he present building which
vas constructed in 1912 will not be
razed until the new structure is
built
Educational Unit Plans
After the sanctuary is construct-
ed an educational unit 24x32 feet
will be built where the present
bin iding now stands and will Join
on the back of the lot a present
structure sized 27x5O leet The ex-
isting educittamal structnre which
will be used in building plans Will
lie COMpletelY remodeled and re-
faced to match new structures
The new structure will be equip-
ped with modern plumbing heat-
ing facilthes and nurseries
The proposed new siructure was
designed and drawn by William H
Daily a member of the building
committee The church is using lite
advisory service of a licensed ar-
chitect from the church's home of-
fice in Anderson Ind in its buil-
ding plans
Initial Work Plans Set
The gent-cal contracting work -ill
be done by individual members of
the congregiltion under supervision
of Rev Roboldi Sub-contracts will
be let for cement work wiring
plumbing and seating
Work is expected to shirt within
60 days on the clearance of the lot
and preparation for foundation
work Homever the first general
construtition on buildings proper is
not expected to start for about INVe
years
When the new proposed strue-
tures are completed ample parking

for the first month of 1957 had a gain of $802 in tax pay-
ments over the same month a year ago Sayre's sales tax
payments were $656 below the same month in 1956
