OBITUARY
George B McCammon son of
John and Mary McCammon was
born at Grosville Indiana Oc-
tober 23 1864
Died July 18 1943
When he was a young boy he
moyed with his parents to a
farm near Conway Springs Kansas
He lived at various places in
that part of Kansas the next
few years and engaged in farm-
ing and railroad work
He united )vith the Baptist
church of Perry Kansas during
his early manhood Later he
placed his membership with the
Christain church at Burlington
In 1904 he moved to the home-
stead east of Freedom where he
lived until he became an invalid
eight years ago and then made
his home with his two daugh-
ters until two months ago when
he came to make his home with
his son Wilford
He was married to Mary Lou-
sa Zipse May 28 1890 To this
union were born six children
three sons and three daughters
His wife a son and daughter
twins preceded him in death
Survivors includes two daugh-
ters Mrs Lela Clothier of Bur-
'ington Oklahoma and Mrs
Dorothy Smith Cushing Okla
two '§ons Willard J and Wilford
C of Freedom a brother El-
mer R McCammon of Welling-
ton Kansas and a sister Nora
McCammon of Chicago Ill five
grandchildren Ted Clothier of
Tulsa Warren and J 140
Smith of Cushing Carol Jo and
Dixie Ix McCammon of Free-
dom and a host of relatives and
friends
Throughout the eight years of
his illness he remained cheer-
ful and never complained of his
misfortune Being so consider-
ate and patient made caring for
him a pleasure
Funeral services were held
in the Christian church at Free-
dom at 2:30 p m Tuesday July
20 1943 with Rev Ray Vaughn
conducting the service Singers
were Mrs Ike Welty Mrs John
Parker Mrs Harvey South
and Mrs Jim Powers accompi-
nied by Mrs Leonard Sample
singing "Abide With Me" "In'
the Garden" and "God's Tomor-
row" The pallbearers were Ot-
is Bickland Ben Kirkham Fred
Smith Roy McGuire Earl Arm-
antrout and Arch Clothier In-
terment was made in the Free-
dom cemetery with the Stile-
Howerton Funeral home in
charge
