memorial film was shown at Ok-
lahoma City Sunday it was wit-
nessed by one man who had
more than ordinary interest in
the presentation lie was Wood-
row Wilson of Oklahoma City
a distant relative of the late
president
According to the Oklahoma
City Woodrow both were named
after their mothers who were
Woodrows before marriage The
president's name according to
Wilson was Thomas Woodrow
Wilson and he was called "Tom"
by the folks
When he lived with his par-
ents in New York Wilson said
the former president came to
their place on various occasions
That was when he was a pro-
fessor at Princeton He also
came over when he was presi-
dent of the college Wilson said
But before he became president
the Oklahoma City Wilson's
parents had died and Wilson
himself went into army service
and never saw his namesake
again

Bryan Gardner of Wellston
son of Mrs James Gardner has
recently bought the Jewett Ab-
bott barber shop and took pos-
session of same last week Mr
Gardner expects to move his
family to Luther within a few
days
LUTHER SCHOOL CLOSED WED
Tuesday evening closed the com-
mencement program for the Luther
high school when 21 pupils received
diploma The commencement ad-
dress was given by Mr Bryan Dec-
cus of Cordell Large crowds includ-
ing many from out of town attended
the closing programs and many pa-
trons expressed themselves as being
well pleased with the year's work
The present faculty both in grades
and high school have been employed
again for the coming year
Mr and Mrs Grover Vorel
have spent the past week in Ok-
lahoma City where Mr Vorel is
taking daily treatments from a
nerve specialist
Mrs Dorothy Huntington Brown of
Balbna Panama has arrived for an
indefinite visit with her parents Mr
and Mrs Chas Huntington and her
sister Mrs W B Nace of Seminole
Mrs Brown has spent the last four
months in Cleveland Ohio training in
post graduate course of obstetrics in
which she received a diploma
Mr and Mrs W B Nace spent the
weekend with their parents Mr Nace
returning Sunday evening and Mrs
Nace and Nellie Lou remaining until
Tuesday Nellie Lou had spent the
week with her grandparents
Mr and Mrs John Legrand
moved last week into their new
house which has just been com-
pleted in the northeast part of

Luther scored 12 runs the first inning
and the final score resulted in 17 to
7 decision in favor of the Home Club
We go to Jones next Sunday and
hope to win our fourth victory of the

of "Christ and the Doctors" after
which followed the regular business

appointed to see about the cleaning

occasion being the annual Sunday
School Convention to be held at the
auditorium
The April visiting committee had a

Mrs Downs gave us some real "food
for thought" concerning the pension-
ing of our aged Christian ministers
and their widows A message will
be brought later in our pulpit divuss-
ing the problem more fully

Mrs Loyd Kennedy Mrs Word was
welcomed as a new member
After the business session an inter-
esting contest was held This was in
the form of poetry depicting ten fa-
mous wpmen of early American His-
tory Four members tied for first
prize leaving it a draw and Mrs
Points was the lucky winner Mrs
McCorkle drew the consolation:
