A CONSTRUCTIVE PROGRAM
(Editorial)
The election is drawing near
and it is time for the voters to
begin to think for whom they
are going to vote
One of the most important of-
fices to be filled in Oklahoma
county is that for county com-
missioner and the Democrats
have nominated a man for com-
missioner of the second district
that we believe fills the bill and
who will give us an economical
and business-like administra-
tion That man is Fred D
Lowe
Mr Lowe has outlined a pro-
gram which he proposes to car-
ry out that both is con-
structive and economical
and which will materially re-
duce the taxes in the various
townships of the county and at
the same time give the town-
ships more benefits than they
have been receiving IIr Lowe
was born and reared on a farm
and knows at first hand some of
the difficulties which the town-
ships encounter Ile is at pres-
ent a member of the Greeley
township board and in that ca-
pacity knows what will be of
benefit to the townships
Mr Lowe believes that with
the large amount of gross pro-
duction tax motor vehicle and
gasoline tax coming to this
county the county will be en-
abled to take over and improve
many of the township roads—
especially those roads that are
mail and school routes—and
thus relieve the townships of
this expense which many of
them are unable to meet The
townships can then levy simply
enough to maintain these roads
after they are constructed and
this can be done on less money
than the townships are now
levying Mr Lowe says he has
a plan whereby this can be done
and that he will be able to carry
it out
Mr Lowe is a man of exempl-
ary character and excellent
business ability His program
which we believe he will carry
out looks good to us We are
for him and urge all who desire
to see every township in the
county get a square deal get be-
hind him and put him over at
the election November 4 by a
big majority
