Funeral services were held
Sunday at two-thirty for Mrs
S S Terrell from the First
Christian Church The ser-
mon was preached by Rev W
A Merrill pastor of the First
Christian Church at Shawnee
Burial was in Grace Lawn cem-
etery Lula Blanche Smith was born
December 24th 1889 at Blue
Hill Nebraska She came with
her parents when four months
old to Oklahoma and located
on a farm eight miles east of
Edmond The family moved
to Edmond ten years later
Miss Smith graduated in mus-
ic from Central State Normal
in 1909 After teaching two
years she was married on July
10th 1911 to S S Terrill and
to this union was born two
children: Marvin now 16 years
(if age and Doris 12
She united with the Chris-
tian Church at the age of 10
years and has been an active
worker in that church as long
as health permitted
Those left to mourn her de-
parture besides the husband
and children are her mother
Mrs Minnie Smith one sister
Grace her brother Ray and
other relatives besides a large
circle of friends
NEW GROUP PLANNING
POULTRY IMPROVEMENT
Definite steps toward the im-
provement of Oklahoma poultry
through the accreditation plan
have been taken with the or-
ganization of the Oklahoma
Poultry Improvement associa-
tion the December I Oklahoma
Farmer-Stockman reports This
organization is planning the es-
tablishment of standard and
uniform grades for chicks
tweeders and eggs
Fifty-one breeders and hatch-
'cries from 17 counties were
tnresented at the orgainzation
meeting held at Oklahoma A &
M college recently Briefly
the plan adopted for carrying
on the improvement in Oklaho-
ma calls for the production of
eggs for hatching from flocks
that have been uniformly culled
to eliminate birds with standard
disqualifications together with
those that are lacking in breed
characteristics are weak in
Iconstitution and vigor and not
physically fit to be heavy egg

Hatcheries selling accredited
chicks will hatch them from
eggs weighing not less than
23 ounces per dozen The ac-
credited chicks must weigh
eight pOLIM13 per DO at the
time of hatching u'hich is a
