Last Monday while coming
from the timber with a load of
wood and while coming down
the hill near what is known as
the Lawson place southeast of
town A H Walker was thrown
from the wagon a wheel passing
over both leg breaking one
bone in the left and severely
bruising the right Mr Walker
got back on bis wagon drove to
town and with a little assistance
walked into Dr Baker’s office
and had the fracture reduced
Mr Walker surely has plenty of
genuine grit
About twenty-five gaests par-
ticipated in the parlor masquer
ade given last night bv Mr and
Mrs Wm Shirley The cost-
umes were varied and well got-
ten up representing different
nationalities and avocations
The evening was pleasant'y
spent in plavtng games and dan-
cing until about 12 o'clock when
we were lined Up bv the hot
aDd ordered to select partners
for supper after which masks
were discarded and tables pre-
pared for a lunch of sandwiches
and coffee as first course and
cake and coffee as second
About ai hour after lunch the
guests began to depart wishinr

happy returns of the evening
