Y vonne was bom in Colorado on
January 18 and is married to George
Herbert who resides in California.
Her dauaghter Karole lives in Ada
and comes often to bring little
"snacks” like sugar-free candy for
all the residents in the unit. Karole
is a very lovely lady and very
interesting to talk with.
Yvonne was a Physical Science
teacher for years before coming to
live here. She loves to visit with
other residents and staff and family
members coming to visit other
residents of the unit
Yvonne was in our style show
for National Nursing Home Week
and really stole the show, she was
dressed up so pretty!
We say God bless you, Yvonne,
and we wish you the best in the
future.

sense of humor and can easily make
you laugh.
A Community Education adult
course in basic computer skills is
being offered June 19-August 14
through the Wynnewood School
system. The class will be taught at
the middle school by computer
instructor Teresa Trett every
Monday evening from 6:30-9 p.m.
for a total of 20 hours of
instruction. Cost of the course is
$25.
“I don’t want anyone who is
interested in learning computers to
be too embarrassed to come in and
try,” Trett said. “I know from my
own learning experience how
frightening a computer can be to a
beginner, and I intend to walk
beginners of all ages through the
steps in a fun and non-threatening
way. If people are interested and
will call me, I will be happy to
answer their questions and clear up
any misconceptions they may have
had so they will feel encouraged to
try. Computers can be a lot of fun!”
Mrs. Trett said that if there is a
great enough demand for a second
class once the first one is filled,
there is a chance that a second class
will be scheduled.
To pre-enroll or to obtain more
information, call Teresa Trett at
665-2241 or leave a message so she
can return your call.

Wednesday we had our exercise,
so very necessary for making us
feel better. The afternoon was a
quiet and relaxing time as Judy had
Care Plans.
On Thursday several residents
were lined up for Neva’s beauty
shop. She works hard throughout
the day to make us feel and look
pretty. Thanks, Neva. Your time
with us and being so consistent
helps keep our memory as it should
be. We had Bingo in the afternoon
with our volunteers. It was fun for
those who enjoy playing, and there
were a good number. We did more
than a bit of napping and sat out
front for a short while, with the sun
warming us up nicely.
I see more than several cars out
front, so we did have visitors.
Saturday seems the time for
exchanging ideas and hearing
something new. It has been a rainy
day to be outside, so it feels good
inside.
You visitors and volunteers, we
appreciate the care you show for us.
It makes way for our faith in people
to grow.
We are anticipating a lovely
Father’s Day. Don’t forget the shut-
in!

Hello from Our Place, the
Wynnewood Convalescent Home.
Residents of Our Place come and
go. Health changes mean a lot to
us. It could mean a chance to be
back home with family, or it could
mean a necessary longer stay.
Integrity, appearance and attitude
will often make us seem a different
person. If we could see ourselves as
others see us, we would laugh or
turn about We might get angry and
have hurt feelings.
Sunday started our weekly agenda
with the Methodist Church
bringing songs and devotion to us.
Several came out for the service and
I’m sure left the room feeling
uplifted in spirits.
Monday morning was nice. We
had a good breakfast and good help
from our volunteers. Darold Schafer
was absent I believe with a lame
leg. We enjoyed exercise and then
got on with personal things that we
enjoy doing.
On Tuesday morning Darold and
others came for our ministry of
songs and devotion. We enjoy these
new-found friends who are interested
in our welvare and our desire for
ministry. We thank Darold and the
others who participate.
