A BOY AND A DOG ARE PARTED. Peter Ormand,
11, bids goodbye to Rockie as the 3-year-old Pekingese
leaves New York’s Kennedy Airport for California. '
Rockie, missing from its home in California since !
last February, had been found by Peter two weeks
ago on streets of Long Island village of Glen Cove
where he lives. How Rockie crossed the continent is
not known. When Peter came home with the dog it
was noticed Rockie was wearing a Los Angeles dog
license tag. An exchange of letters revealed Rockie's
owners live in El Monte, near Los Angeles, and were
anxious to get the dog back. (AP Wirephoto)
