New Look Added
by Randy Dunn
Three new games have been added to the Eastern State College's game
room, located in the lower floor of the Student Union. These include
pinball, fooseball and a rifle machine.
The game room, managed by Bea Isenhower, is open Monday through
Thursday from 12 noon to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. With
five pool tables, three snooker tables, two pinball machines, two fooseball
tables, a rifle machine and a juke box, the game room provides plenty of
recreation for Eastern College students during their spare time.
Bea Isenhower has worked at Eastern's game room for five semesters. "I
try to keep a motherly attitude toward the students; keeping the game
room as much like home as possible." She stated, "The freshmen have
been extremely well behaved this year compared to former years."
New pool balls, racks and cue sticks have been purchased for the room;
however, most of the present pool tables are in need of repair. Until these
repairs are made, this new equipment will not be placed in use, which
would subject them to undo wear.
Cigarette butts have been a problem in the past. Smokers would neglect
to use the provided ash cans and drop them on the floor. This was quickly
remedied by the creativeness of a sign placed near the door which kindly
implies that a person littering the floor will not remain in the game room
very long.
Prices charged for using the pool or snooker tables are set by the
