kogee charge with counterfeiting
Arthur H Gibbs of Lindsey Okla
indicted by the Tlsa grand Jury
charged with trying to get rich too
fast by making a one dollar bill look
like a ten 'spot
Gibbs had a ten dollar hill and a
one dollar bill He clipped the
small corners from the ten and
pasted them on the $1 hill lie
figured that by working this scheme
he would make a net profit of nine
dollars for every eleven dollars he
worked on
After he had pasted the figures
"10 on the dollar bill he started to
put his scheme In operation He
went to a store In Lindsey and
bought a ca nof tobacco tendering
the raised one dollar bill In pay-
ment ' He got the tobacco and the
change The clerk later found the
bill was counterfeit He hunted up
Gibbs who confessed and gave back
$990 in change but kept the tobacco
Dave Reed and L R Sandera of
Broken Bow Okla are also charged
with counterfeiting
It is alleged that they used a mold
to make dollars of babbitt metal
They had a quantity of spurious coin
In their possession when arrested
