Paris Gvic Chorus
PARIS, Texas—Organization of
a Paris Civic Chorus has been an-
nounced here with Royce Curtis,
minister of music and youth at
First Baptist Church, as director.
Some 53 people attended the
organization meeting.
Composed of people in Paris
who like to sing, the chorus will
present Handel's Messiah Decem-
ber 19 at First Methodist Church
here.

Gallaudet College in Washington,
D. C., the only college for the
deaf in the United Stated. "The
$25 cash award we won will go
to thia fund," Mrs Hall said.
On graduation day In the
spring the cltib sponsors an open
house for the senior clan and
parents. They take charge of the
guests who come to the exer-
cises, directing them and help-
ing them in any way possible.
Bake Cakes, Tee
The members often bake cakes
for children's birthdays, substi-
tute for teachers and housemoth-
ers when needed, send flowers
and cards to sick pupils and
serve as guides to special guests
on the campus. To help the deaf
students take more pride in the
Sulphur campus the group spon-
sors a clean-up campaign each
year.
This year's president of the
club is Don Price, 7501 NE 23rd
Oklahoma City, Kay Carter of
Sulphur is the secretary.

Oat and wheat acreage is
planted and making good growths.
The planting of cover crops and
pastures continue with early
plantings being up to good stands
and providing some grazing.
Surface soil is dry and rain is
needed for autumn crops and pas-
tures. Greenbugs are reported in
some fields of small grains, but
damage is light.

Arson Study
HOLDENVILLE—Max Darks,
Hughes county attorney, will ap-
pear on the program of the fourth
annual Southwestern Arson In-
vestigation Institute to be held
on the North Campus of the Uni-
versity of Oklahoma, Norman,
November 11, through Nov. 15.
Parks is president of the Okla-
homa County Attorney's associa-
tion. He will participate in the
Friday afternoon session on "Pro-
secution, Court Procedure and
Courtroom Demonstrations."
Arthur J. Marmaduke, district
judge, from Duncan, will preside
over a mock trial. More than 150
firemen and fire chiefs, state
police, city police, sheriffs, county
attorneys and special investiga-
tors will attend the meeting.

Fish Area Change
TOKYO, Nov. 10 m-The Unit-
ed States failed Monday to win
a new boundary which would
have further restricted Japanese
salmon fishing in the northern
Pacific ocean.
The international north Pacific
fisheries commission, closing its
one-week plenary session, said it ,
"did not take any action to move
the provisional Uno either east
or west at this meeting and, ac-
cordingly; the dividing line for
salmon fihsing will remain at its
present location for at least an-
other year."
