Society folk are continually grum-

Some of the families actually he-

within certain limits and striving for
reduced expenses, but these econo-

For example, some of the society
women do not use the telephone for
suburban calls when a 2-cent stamp
will convey the information they wish
to send. But the same woman would
not hesitate to organize a trip to Eu-

A French dressmaker supplied an-

the women never ask about prices
when they are buying, but this par-

bookkeeper had made a mistake. The
account was only $15 but the hook,

This would make a most interesting
study, not only for our public schools
but for the adult mind as well. No
state is richer than ours along these
two lines. A book, accurately combin-
ing the two subjects, with original de
signs in nutural colors would tie a
priceless addition to Oklahoma's story
No finer coliection cf sketches of the
flowers dotting our plains, was ever
painted than that done by Miss
Martha Avey, whom, it will be remem-
bered, received the first prize tor this
portfolio at the Panama exposition.
The late Fred Barde, naturalist and
author, left some interesting work on
bird lore and as to the music created
by our numerous songsters, Roy
Young, Oklahoma a own violinist, has
captured, by hours of nature study,
much of that golden melody.
The knowledge of these things
should be more general. Upon occa-
sions women's clubs have a program
devoted to birds and blossoms of our
state, and such a one will be given
-Saturday by the Women of ’89.
