A great many railroads are
built with printer's ink and white
paper that never develop further
existence and roads are often
built on paper long before a rail-
road man is enough interested to
look over the proposed route
This paper is not given to ex-
ploiting imaginary projects but
from recent developments we are
forced “to believe that a north-
east and southwest road will
soon be“ built through Haskell
county
‘ There are three different con-
cerns endeavoringto locate a road
through this county in the direc-
tions above named' The first is
promoted by South McAlester

to Sallisaw The second is pro-
moted by A D Goodenough of-
Sulphur with parties at Lawton
with Mr CS Stocker of Stigler
as president Mr Stocker has-

- The third project is supposed
to be an extension of the Mis-
souri’ Pacific called the Great
Southwestern in the interests of
which an engineer known to be
in the employ of the Missouri
Pacific visited Stigler some
weeks ago
’A prominent citizen of Stigler
in conversation with an engineer -of
the latter road at Muskogee 1
this week was told that a locating
party would be in the field within
the next few weeks and that con-
struction work would commence
trom Vian before the first of Jan-
uary 1908
One -of these roads will cer-
tainly be built and that too at an
