Diversity is widespread on the RSC
campus, including age. gender, marital
status and cultural backgrounds and
is recognized with various speakers
throughout each semester at the col-
lege
This month, Stanley L. Evans, assis-
tant dean at the University of Oklahoma
College of Law, will speak to faculty,
staff, students and other guests as a part
of Black History Month at 11:30 a.m..
Feb. 21 in the Main Dining Room. A
light lunch will be served.
“[Guests] will learn that the le-
gal profession has been instrumental in
pulling and pushing forward in ethnic-
relations and equity," Dr. Shenethia
Manuel, director of Personnel Services,
said. “They will learn] African Ameri-
can history in the context of law and the
legal profession."
Manuel previously served as adviser
to former RSC President Dr. James
Cook and the two agreed that the cam-
pus should have "monthly recognition
of cultural diversity." she said.
RSC President Dr. Terry Britton has
continued this recognition and "is com-
mitted to inclusiveness." she added
Evans. similar to many of the students
enrolled each year at RSC. continued
his education as a non-traditional stu-
dent - meaning he did not enter college
straight out of high school. In fact, he
was 52 years old when he entered law
school. And immediately following his
graduation, he accepted his current title
as assistant dean.
