Grand boulevard around the city.
Those without vision fought this pro-
posal as the most extravagant bit ot
boosting ever heard of. The propo-
nents os the boulevard plan forecast
a city of 150,000 within a generatton.
The antis croaked their ridicule. Yet
when a truck in which the students
were returning from a basketball
game crashed into the Stephens car
on highway 66, near Miller, Mo.
the battle.
It was a nice bit of tactics which
routed the rebels. the general said.
Two strong units converged upon
Ayerbe from different angle* and
eaught the rebel force* of about 1,000
men in a sort of nut-cracker at the
Ayerbe mountain pass. Gen. Jorge
Fernandez Herdla was in command of
the federals.

government to have been fatally poi-
soned by her husband, Maj. Charles
A. Shepard, took the witness stand
Saturday in defense of the army med-
ical officer at his murder trial.
The aged witness, Mrs. Zenana
