Bits of wiring and pieces of dry
cell batteries were found by detectives

Franklin with heartfelt gratitude for
his generosity. If he were to announce
the policy of his companies as being
against the destruction of a city by oil
drilling and withdraw from the Harn
lease, accompanying his withdrawal
with a statement of the property
hazard and danger to the city, he
would fix a policy that all reputable
independents would follow and the
derricks would be confined to the
fringes. I do not expect Franklin to
make such a generous gesture. Such
consideration is not consistent with oil
development. Nevertheless it would be
securing the good will of 300,000.
